I turned 40 this year and told my husband that instead of a party or a fancy gift I wanted to take a family trip. But not just any trip.
Greece had been on our travel bucket list for years and now that the kids are getting older and traveling with them doesn't seem so impossible, we decided it was the perfect destination for celebrating this milestone birthday. We planned this trip for months, and scheduled a lot of time with friends and family while we were there, and it turned out to be pretty perfect. I was nervous about jet lag and just the general anxiety that comes along with traveling with children but once I let go of that and replaced the bed time police with the sunblock police, we were all able to relax and really enjoy this trip--fun, way too late nights, ferry delays and mishaps, and all. What better gift can we give or get that would top so many beautiful and hilarious memories?
I shot well over 1000 images in a two-week span and it felt really good to be out with my camera. I'll be sharing more of them here on the blog and some will be in the photography shop. These are some of my favorites that captured the color Greece is best known for - this beautiful and rich blue.
